This iris quilt is totally made by machine and quilted by machine.  I loved working on this quilt because it was a real challenge to make the flowers appear realistic.  I quilted it very specifically to try to get the shapes of the flowers and leaves. The iris provides a welcome burst of color every spring.  They remind me of my grandmother’s garden visited as a child.  The buds are a mystery, secretly hiding their true identity for a later surprise.  This old-fashioned favorite always brings me joy!
