The “clematis” is a most exquisite flower with its large brilliant blossoms.  This showy display of plush crimson was a challenge, trying to recreate in fabric the hues of the petals and it’s spiny center.  This clematis is clothed with bright green leaves.  The buds are my absolute favorite part of the vine.  I have fractured the quilt into three parts, making it technically easier to manage the large size.
