    Nothing can compare to the sight of a hillside full of poppies.  While vacationing in California, I experienced this spectacular show of blooms!  These flowers are huge and brightly colored with velvety fringed and frilled petals.  They are studded in the center with very bold markings.  This is one of the best flowers for watching a diversity of color unfold.  This quilt was an absolute joy to make.  I could hardly work fast enough to see these blooms unfold.
