RUSSIAN
CARD TRICK
©1993
Machine Pieced
Machine Quilted
Commercial cotton, organza, Russian playing cards, beads, polyester batting
38”w x 38”l
Collection of Russell Philips
A
complete deck of Russian playing cards is encased between a layer of organza and
cotton, then outline stitched. The
cards form the traditional pattern of “card trick”.
The ornate borders reflect the Russian stained glass architecture, and
beading is added for embellishment.
I
bought the Russian playing cards, while visiting the International quilt
Festival in Houston, TX.
