SEA, SEA, SEA©2002 I
began this quilt after attending a beaded fringe class at the crazy quilt
conference in Omaha. All of the beads and
embellishments are laid down individually by hand, including the mermaids and
deep-sea diver. I feverishly beaded on
the quilt through the summer of 2002, and then I had a devastating blow in
August. My daughter was diagnosed
with Multiple Sclerosis. She
enjoyed watching each of the fish come alive with the embellishments. This
quilt became very therapeutic work for me.
I cried and beaded and cried some more.
I decided to name the quilt for her, using her initials “CCC”. With the play on her initials, it was titled, “Sea, Sea,
